Frequently asked questions
Do I need to bring anything for the float session?
No. Your float session includes all necessary amenities, including fresh towels, earplugs, organic shampoo and shower gel. Just arrive a few minutes early and we’ll take care of the rest.
What can I expect for my first float?
Most people leave their first float session feeling deeply relaxed, refreshed, and mentally clear. However, every experience is different, so it’s best to approach your float with an open mind and no fixed expectations.
For some guests, it can take a session or two to fully switch off and relax deeply. Like any new experience, your body may need time to adjust — and many people find the benefits increase with regular floating.
Will I get dehydrated from floating?
Because of the high salt concetration in the water, floating can be slightly dehydrating. However, just counteract that by making sure you’re hydrated pre and post-float and you won’t notice any difference.
Do I need to prepare in any way?
No special preparation is needed for your float session. For maximum comfort, we recommend avoiding shaving on the same day and limiting caffeine beforehand. Otherwise, just arrive relaxed and ready to enjoy a stress-free, restorative experience.
When should I arrive and what if I'm late?
Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled float so we can check you in and explain everything about your session.
If you arrive up to 5 minutes late, we can usually add a few extra minutes to the end of your float if you shower quickly.
If you arrive more than 5 minutes late, your session time may be shortened, as we need to thoroughly clean the float room between guests.
If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we will do our best to accommodate you, but your session may need to be rescheduled.
Should I eat before floating?
We recommend a light meal two hours before your float. Ideally you’ll not be hungry or too full in the pod.
I have just died my hair. Can I float?
Yes, but we recommend washing your hair at least once or twice after dyeing before your float session. This helps ensure the color has set and prevents the water from affecting your hair or the float pod.
For bright or vibrant colors, we may perform a towel test to check if any dye transfers. This ensures both your hair and the pod remain protected.
Do I have to take my contact lenses out?
If you wear contact lenses, you don’t need to take them out, but you do need to be careful not to get any water in your eyes as it will irritate them.
Can I wear a head cap to keep my hair dry?
Swimming or head caps cannot fully prevent water from reaching your hair, so you will likely still need to rinse or wash your hair after floating.
If you have recently dyed hair, we may ask you to wear a cap to protect the float pod and prevent color transfer.
What happens if I get salt in my eye?
If float water gets in your eye, it may sting briefly. Don’t worry — each pod is equipped with a spray bottle of fresh water so you can rinse your eyes immediately. The stinging will stop quickly, and your float can continue comfortably.
Can I keep the lid open?
Yes — you have complete control of the lid. Our pod lids are manual, not mechanised, so there’s no risk of being trapped. We recommend closing it to maintain the water temperature and enjoy the full dark, calming environment, but you can keep it open at any time if you prefer.
Can I listen to music throughout?
Yes, you have the option to listening to music or floating in silence. There is a button inside the Pod that will turn on/off the music depending on your preference.
Do I have to use earplugs?
It’s not a requirement that you wear the earplugs, but we really recommend it. They add an extra layer of soundproofing, and prevent salty water from getting into your ears. And don’t worry, we provide them free of charge.
