Andes in Motion: Challenging Treks for the Fit Traveler

At ReEnergize Cusco, our Andes in Motion experiences are built for fit, motivated travelers who want to move quickly, cover more ground, and experience the mountains on their own terms — whether you’ve got one day or three.

Unlike standard group treks that cater to all fitness levels, these journeys are designed for people who train hard and want a real physical and mental challenge. On group tours, you might find yourself stopping often, moving slowly, and feeling like the trail isn’t really pushing you. With Andes in Motion, you’ll be matched to a pace that suits your ability — no holding back, no waiting around.

We pack light and stay in homestays, lodges, or local guesthouses, so there’s no need for tents or heavy gear. That means more time on the trail, less weight on your back, and more energy to enjoy the incredible views and landscapes along the way.

Whether you’re a strong hiker, a fast trekker, or simply someone who doesn’t want to be limited by a group, this is for you. Below are a few of our signature high-speed treks. Want something custom? Reach out and we’ll help you create a journey that matches your drive.

Remember: all our routes are flexible — hike them, power through them, or add a bit of running. Our philosophy is simple: pack light and move with purpose.

🏔️ 4: Choquequirao Express – 2–3 Day Fast Hike (~42KM)

A raw and unforgettable Andean adventure to one of Peru’s most spectacular Incan cities — with a lot fewer tourists and a lot more physical challenge. Designed for fit and experienced hikers, this fast-paced 2-day trek covers ~42 km of rugged terrain, from deep canyon descents to remote highland ridgelines. You’ll move light, stay in a local homestay, and arrive at the incredible ruins of Choquequirao, often called Machu Picchu’s sister city — but without the crowds.

Unlike many high-altitude routes, Choquequirao stays slightly lower in elevation, making it ideal for travelers still acclimatizing — but don’t be fooled: the steep descents and ascents are intense. You’ll need strong legs and mountain stamina to complete this one.

🟡 Best for strong hikers looking for a physical and mental test in remote, scenic terrain.

We support athletes like René Champi (Peru’s half marathon record holder – 1:02:06) and Julio Chacon (21K – 1:02:36), and provide paid guiding roles through our running and hiking experiences—helping them stay in the sport and inspire others.
